Abstract

Recently completed under budget and ahead of schedule, the $252-million West Vancouver Freight Access program significantly improved the ability of Washington State’s Port of Vancouver USA to accommodate rail traffic and larger freight volumes. The largest capital improvement effort in the port’s history, the program has helped reduce rail congestion on nearby critical rail lines by as much as 40 percent.
