Abstract

Abstract This experiment was conducted at an Industrial Park in Covington County, MS. Soil type was a sandy clay loam. Experimental design was a RCB with 3 replications. Each replication was 10,000 ft2. Granular applications were made on 14 May and 14 Jul. Liquid applications of Triumph 4 E were applied over the Award Bait plots on 19 May and 19 Jul. Granular formulations were applied with a ferti-lome, hand-pushed spreader. Liquids were applied with a Solo knapsack sprayer using a fan nozzle at 25 psi, and a spray volume of 3 gal per 10,000 ft2. No rainfall occurred within 24 h of any treatment. Active fire ant mounds were determined visually and by touch. Pretreatment counts were made on 14 May and post-treatment counts were made on 28 May, 11 Jun, 14 and 28 Jul, 13 Aug and 1 Sep.
