Abstract
Maintenance scheduling establishes the outage time scheduling of units in a particular time horizon. In a monopolistic power system, maintenance scheduling is being done only upon the technical requirements of power plants and preserving the grid reliability, while in restructured power systems, technical viewpoints and system reliability are taken into consideration in maintenance scheduling with respect to the economical viewpoints. In this paper the meanings of technical viewpoint, system reliability and economical viewpoint in maintenance scheduling, are provided. Therefore, we will have a clear vision of system stability in view point of independent system operator (ISO), calculation and evaluation method of power plants reliability indicators, generation costs (operating and unit maintenance costs) and effective factors of maintenance. Then we will discuss on the maintenance scheduling in restructured power systems from the ISO and suppliers viewpoints. Comparing the existing models in this topic, we will try to represent proper models for each of the mentioned viewpoints.
