Abstract

The article describes the problem of the acoustic determination of projectile coordinates and motion parameters in the context of evaluation of the artillery shooting’s results for naval targets, whose purpose is to verify the level of training of the subunits participating in combat exercises. The analysis of energy and time–frequency characteristics of N wave for 35 mm TP-T projectiles was presented, and the problem of determining their coordinates was initially characterised. Particular attention was paid to the indication of measurement conditions and limitations of acoustic disturbances generated by projectiles moving at supersonic speed in the naval shooting conditions. The provided concept of software-hardware solutions of the acoustic location system, designed to support the process of developing the evaluation of shootings carried out to the seaborne target, was also described. Finally, a brief description of the research and the conclusions are presented.
