Abstract

Mathematics shapes attitudes and values in people because it guarantees a solid foundation, security in procedures, and confidence in the results obtained. In any field of education, mathematics is present, whether in a basic or advanced way. In this sense, this research aimed to analyze the importance of mathematics in the management of protected areas and tourism development. The main results indicate that mathematical tools are necessary in the management processes in protected areas, allowing solutions to emerging problems. It also facilitates the replication of its methods in new scientific and management studies.
