Abstract

Concrete is widely used in the field of construction industry by using the locally available materials. The recent trends in research as well as industry are to develop the properties of the concrete and the durability to meet all the demands and requirements. Concrete has higher strength with greater brittle property. The influence of cracks in concrete leads to shrinkage, reduces the strength and affects the durability of concrete. It has been proved that using fibers in concrete enhances the mechanical and durability properties of concrete. This paper summarize the effects of using fishing net waste and recycled carpet fiber in the concrete and discusses its physical, mechanical properties.
