Abstract

This research aims to give an overview about the influence of thematic learning models values towards the interests of learning mathematics in the third grade students of elementary school. To achieve these objectives, several stages were conducted (1) analyzing the characteristics and components of the thematic learning model; (2) Identifying theories about the concept of character value, student learning interests; (3) creating a learning-kit of thematic learning model integrated character values and validating the learning-kit ; (4) drafting and validating instruments of students’ learning interest (5) providing an integrated thematic learning model integrated character value and give a questionnaire to students' learning interests; (6) Analyzing the results of the students’ learning interests; (7) describing the implementation of thematic learning models integrated character values towards students' learning interests. The research was conducted at SDN Lokkasaile Kabupaten Pengkep involving 35 students as research sample. The obtained data is subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that there is an increase in the learning interest of students where the pretests results were obtained on average of 117.54 which was in fair category, while the average posttest results of 127.60 were in good category. This indicates that the increase in interest in learning mathematics is not significant by applying the thematic learning model considering the interest in learning mathematics both in the pretest and posttest both are in the good category
