Abstract
The article is a report on the implementation of the project “We remember and act – volunteers in the footsteps of history and its heroes” covering the visit of the Ukrainian group in Legnica from 12 to 21 September 2022, in which 30 volunteers took part (15 from Ukraine and Polish). the activities planned in the project were aimed at the organization and participation of young people in the conference “In the footsteps of history and its heroes”. Getting to know the memorial sites in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the cities of Legnica and Wrocław, was accompanied, m.in, by works at the cemetery, workshops for participants and with children and youth, concerts of patriotic songs, a picnic with history. The activities were carried out using active methods of non-formal education and with the involvement of the local environment.
