Abstract

This paper focuses on designing digital circuits, which enables the integrated circuit with fixed-function to perform the specific sequential behavior and simulation of the implemented circuit by computer simulation program. A large number of fixed-function Integrated Circuits (IC) that can be used to achieve specific functions according to designer requirements, depending on specific applications in digital systems. For circuit designers, before the manual hardware design, it is very important to simulate the designed circuits, using software tools, enabling the designer to verify the functionality of the designed circuit in every step during this process. The IC 74HC190 with fixed-function can be configured to perform the UP/DOWN sequence synchronous digital decade counters with different modulus, according to the specific cases of the operation. Using the CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools during designing phase of any digital circuits significantly improves the efficiency of the digital systems depending on designing system requirements. The obtained results through the software tools after simulating the implemented circuits will help designers to predict the performance of the new designed circuits, as well to detect mistakes during this phase.
