Abstract

The article analyzes the methodological recommendations for higher education standards development related to the quality implementation competence approach in higher education and updating educational programs. In particular, based on the specialty “Management”, a list of necessary competencies that students must master in the process of learning is described in detail. An analysis of the recommendations of the project “TUNING” on methodologies for developing and updating curricula is carried out, as well as the main trends in the development of higher education following the approved Roman Communique are identified. The methods and ways of assessing competencies, which are used in leading companies and are the most effective, in particular, “the 360-degree estimation method” are studied. The relevant recommendations of this method in the educational process to assess the competencies of students and graduates they received as a result of training are formulated. A copy of the questionnaire for students to assess time management competency is developed. SWOT analysis is also considered in detail as another method for evaluation mastering a certain competence by students and an example of SWOT-analysis that can be implemented by young professionals to identify their strengths and weaknesses is shown. Recommendations for using the method of introspection for students, which should be focused on a specific competence to be assessed are given. To achieve effective results of the employment of graduates and high evaluation by employers of the quality of student training in higher education institutions, an important and necessary factor to be implemented while studying are certain methods of assessing competencies that students acquire in the learning process. Teachers are encouraged to use methods that are successfully applied in the company and business structures. It is important to emphasize that such methods of assessing competencies will help students in their further professional growth and orient them in the directions, which still need to work over.
