Abstract
in Slovakia was initiated under the Act no. 261/1995 Coll. on information systems of public administration. The principles of creation in Slovakia are contained in the strategic document titled “National concept of public administration” elaborated in connection with computerisation of public administration. Intending to implement at least 20 services into electronic form by 2013, the Operational Programme Information Society (OPIS) was approved in 2007. The aim of this paper is to assess the current state of implementation of in the Slovak Republic. The concept e-Government is taken to denote services of public administration which are available in the electronic form by means of information and communication technologies. The introductory part of the paper provides an overview of legal regulation (de lege lata) in the field of in Slovakia. The empirical research, aimed at the achieved level of implementation of in Slovakia in the sphere of local self-government, made use of the following methods of scientific research: analysis, deduction, induction, synthesis. The subject-matter of the investigation were the Slovak towns and cities divided according to their size structure. The research aimed at the identification of forms of already implemented and used in Slovakia at the mentioned level. In order to obtain information, standard forms of questionnaires in combination with controlled interviews with representatives of local self-government were used
