Abstract
Hybridization of energy sources gives better reliability and flexibility for the power generation system. For integrating different sources, a suitable power electronic interface and a power management strategy are mandatory requirements. In this paper, implementation of closed loop controller for a dual input single output DC-DC converter to integrate two different VI characteristic sources for DC microgrid application is presented. The converter can perform all the three basic modes of operation of DC-DC converter (buck, buck-boost, and boost). The open loop and closed loop simulation of the proposed converter has been carried out in MATLAB Simulink platform and experimental validation is done with DSPIC30F3011 microcontroller for both open loop and closed loop operation. Effectiveness of control strategy is verified for both load regulation and line regulation. The experimental results are well matched with the simulation results which show the efficient operation of the control strategy adopted.
