Abstract

In this paper, an Intel single board computer, iSBC986/21, is used to implement a fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer (FPSS) and the FPSS behavior is investigated on a physical model of a power system. Experimental tests and results are discussed. A standardized rule table as the rule table for fuzzy logic controllers is proposed. This standardized rule table is employed to design a new fuzzy PSS (NFPSS) and the performance of the NFPSS is compared with that of a FPSS which uses a rule table as commonly derived by trial and error.
