Implementasi Etika Penggunaan Media Sosial Facebook dan Whatssapp Bagi Siswa MTs Negeri 3 Demak

Abstract

This research describes the ethics of implementing the use of social media such as facebook and whatsapp for MTs Negeri 3 Demak students. Ethics is a norm that becomes a reference for individuals and groups of a community regarding the rules of their actions, which then ethics are implemented on social media for students, teachers, and school administative personnel. This study aims to describe: (1) implementation of the use of ethics in social media such as facebook and whatsapp for MT Negeri 3 Demak students, (2) teachers’ monitor and control toward facebook and whatsapp that the sudents of MTs Negeri 3 Demak use. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, by conducting field studies through: whatsapp and facebook group observations and interviews using random sampling techniques. The subjects of this study were the head of MTs Negeri 3 Demak, teachers at MTs Negeri 3 Demak, and students at MTs Negeri 3 Demak. Data analysis techniques uses data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The results show that ethics in using social media such as facebook and whatsapp for MTs Negeri 3 Demak students consists of researching facts, conveying correct information, avoiding slander, hatred and hostility, and doing amr ma'ruf nahi munkar. Meanwhile, in conducting supervision, the teachers check the facebook homepage, facebook favorite history, whats app application group and whatsapp story.
