Imperatives of Formation of the Information Society in the Context of the Modern Global Challenges

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this work is to consider the current changes in society and the global economy under the influence of development of information technologies and their wide implementation into various spheres of public life. Information technologies contain potential opportunities and cause certain threats, which have to be neutralized before their emergence. The existing threats are of the global character and contain potential risks. Appearance of such risks will influence the work of the whole complexes and spheres of national economy, as global digital technologies establish information ties, along which information is transferred to all participants of this process. A lot of countries try to take into account and, if possible, prevent these risks, but the emerging frequent failures in the work of financial markets, hacks of international banking systems and internal information resources prove low effectiveness of the existing systems of protection of information systems. Methodology: The authors use the methods of systematization and logical analysis of text; for processing and evaluation of statistical material, the authors use the methods of graphic and table analysis of data, horizontal and vertical analysis, generalization, and generation of ideas. Results: The modern information society has a lot of opportunities and global perspectives for the countries that actively implement the information and communication technologies; however, there are risks and lack of protection of the national information infrastructure. The authors determine the main tendencies of development of informatization in all spheres of public life, prove reduction of the level of differentiation of the subjects of the Russian Federation as to the indicator of information development, and study dynamics and statistics of application of the tools of protection of the information infrastructure by organizations and population. Recommendations: The studied main directions of supporting the level of information protection and security in Internet in the conditions of frequent cyber attacks on the critical information infrastructural objects will allow for protection of national interests in the cyber space, without cyber fraud and cyber terrorism.
