Abstract

As far as the authors know, this study presents a topic thatis the first time anyone has dealt with. Many people have examined the issues in the title individually but not the three concepts together, even though there is a close connection among the three concepts. A clear relationship can be shown between specific urban characteristics and the types of crime. Nowadays, several stages of urban development are present in many large cities in Europe, and the urban structure is changing, which affects both the number and structure of crimes. The study presents the main urban structural belts and their characteristics and compares them with the urban development stages. The authors examined and analyzed the settlement structure and crime characteristics of Central and Eastern European countries in the research. The results of the research can be used both in the field of law enforcement and urban development.
