Abstract

This paper presents impacts of distributed generation (DG) on voltage sag assessment in distribution systems. Voltage sag assessment is analyzed by using the method of fault positions in order to determine area of vulnerability (AOV), voltage sag frequency and voltage sag index. Simulation results of case studies on The Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS bus 2) are summarized. Results show that DG should be installed on the same feeder and closed to SE as much as possible. DG installed at an upstream location of SE shows better performance than a downstream location.
