Abstract

ABSTRACT The study was conducted in 20 randomly selected villages of Panhala taluka in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra state. A total of 400 dairy farmers were randomly selected from the selected villages for the study. This study aims to assess the impact of Shri Warana Dairy Co-op M P P F Ltd pattern on socioeconomic profile, knowledge and adoption of dairy management practices of dairy farmer member producers and constraints faced by them. The data collection was done by the use of structured interview schedule and through personal interview. The socio-economic status of dairy farmers was raised after becoming the member of Shri Warana Co-op M.P.P.F. Ltd. The highly significant differences were observed in statistical analysis of herd size, annual income, risk orientation, social participation, source of information, knowledge and adoption of dairy farmers as impact of Warana dairy farming pattern after becoming the member except land holding. Almost all the independent and dependent variables of the socio-economic status of the dairy farmers has shown the highly significant impact after becoming the members may lead to the concrete conclusion that the co-operativee movement and mode is responsible for bringing-up the sea change in the livelihood of these farmers.
