Impact of psychological health on dry eye and management during 2019 novel coronavirus disease epidemic
Since the end of 2019, 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreaks and spreads in Wuhan and whole globe, which brings great challenge to the public health prevention and control work in our country and even in the world. Although the national medical staffs and Public Health Epidemic Prevention personnel to fight the epidemic, a large number of patients and long-term isolation measures have had a huge impact on people's life style. The development of the epidemic has currently been eased, but the blockade and quarantine in many cities have not been completely lifted. During the controls of the coronavirus, changes in living style caused by long-term isolation as well as the fear of disease and economic recession will bring people various negative emotions. These mental health issues may cause and aggravate occurrence and development dry eye. We explores the impact of mental health on dry eye during the epidemic and possible mechanism and puts forward relevant suggestions for the management related eye diseases during and after the epidemic. The epidemic situation of 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) had been entered into the national prevention and control phase since its outbreak in China. Its main source of infection was the confirmed patients, but asymptomatic infections may also be source of this infection. Because pregnant women were in the state of immunosuppression, they were more susceptible to respiratory pathogens and inclined to develop into severe diseases. During the epidemic period, they still need to go to hospital for necessary prenatal examination or termination of pregnancy and other obstetric interventions. In view of the above particularity, Beijing Youan Hospital, Capital Medical University had formulated the diagnosis and treatment process of pregnant women under the epidemic situation, adjusted and optimized the outpatient inspection and inpatient treatment process, striving to minimize the impact of the epidemic situation on the diagnosis and treatment of pregnant women and ensure the health of mothers and infants. At the same time, the relevant protection process of medical staff should be formulated to effectively avoid nosocomial infection, so as to provide reference for the formulation of obstetric diagnosis and treatment plan during the epidemic. Objective To explore the perioperative management and infection prevention methods for acute eye diseases during the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Methods Since the COVID-19 was included in the Class B infectious diseases and was managed according to Class A infectious diseases in China, 127 patients who underwent ophthalmic surgery were enrolled at First Affiliated Hospital of Army Military Medical University from January 21 to February 19,2020. The perioperative management according to the national epidemic prevention and control requirements was summarized, and the perioperative clinical management that should be taken during the epidemic prevention period were discussed. Results One hundred and twenty-seven patients underwent ophthalmic surgeries, including emergency surgery, daytime surgery and other surgeries for sight-threatening diseases. The methods of anesthesia included general anesthesia, local anesthesia and ocular superficial anesthesia. According to the national epidemic prevention and control requirements, epidemic screening for these patients and infectious managing measures were performed during the perioperative period, including the sterilization of relevant environment and equipments, the personal medical prevention and protection for medical staffs and patients, which made surealltheoperationswent smoothlyand safely. There were no 2019-nCoV infection, surgical-relative infection, crossing infection and operation-related complications occurred. Meanwhile, there were not COVID-19-related infection events of medical staffs. The air sampling compliance rate in the operating room, ward, examination and other areas was 100%. Conclusions During the prevention and control period of the epidemic of COVID-19, strict adherence to the prevention and control measures can effectively ensure the smooth implementation of the operation and the perioperative safety of medical staff and patients. Objective To investigate the public psychosocial status and regional differences of Chinese residents during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to distribute online self-assessment tools of mental health including the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) scale through WeChat and other self media platforms from January 30 to February 13, 2020. A total of 14 592 people from 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) in China were evaluated on mental health. The positive detection rate was regarded as the primary outcome measure. Results The positive detection rate of SRQ-20 was 33.2% (4 840/14 592), and that of the PHQ-9 was 53.5% (7 503/14 037), with 29.3% (4 115/14 037) for mild, 14.0% (1 967/14 037) for moderate and 10.1% (1 421/14 037) for severe depression. The positive detection rate of GAD-7 was 44.6% (6 196/13 904), with 27.8% (3 862/13 904) for mild, 10.2% (1 413/13 904) for moderate and 6.6% (921/13 904) for severe anxiety. Except for a few areas, the positive rates of these three scales were almost the same all over the country, and the anxiety level of the inhabitants in Hubei province was significantly higher than that in other provinces. Conclusion As a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has brought obvious psychological impact to the nationwide people, with more prominent in anxiety and depression. The public is in a general group crisis in the early stage of the outbreak, especially in areas with serious epidemic situation. It is suggested that great attention should be paid to public mental health while fighting against the epidemic situation aiming at ensuring their life safety, so as to implement effective psychological assistance and timely psychological crisis intervention. As the frontline health care workers at the center of the novel coronavirus disease (COVIN-19) outbreak, we have found many asymptomatic COVIN-19 patients or patients with mild symptoms since December 2019. A number of COVIN-19 cases with conjunctivitis or conjunctivitis as the first symptom have been observed in our clinical work. This paper reports the diagnosis and treatment of one COVIN-19 patient with conjunctivitis as the first symptom and one COVIN-19 patient with conjunctivitis. Case one occurred conjunctivitis at the third day after closely contacted with determined COVID-19 patient and visited to eye doctor, and the symptom of conjunctivitis following the topical administration of anti-virual eyedrops for 1 week, followed by COVID-19. Her 2019-nCoV RNA detection of nasopharynx swab was positive but that of conjunctival sac swab was a negative result. Case two had a positive epidemiological history and simultaneous onset of COVID-19 and conjunctivitis.She presented positive results of 2019-nCoV RNA detection in both nasopharynx and conjunctival sac swabs, and other lab results supported the diagnosis of COVID-19 but she had a normal CT findings of the chest. The ocular symptoms were disappeared after topical administration of anti-virual eyedrops for 1 week. On February 1, 2020, China announced a novel coronavirus CoVID-19 outbreak to the public. CoVID-19 was classified as an epidemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Although the disease was discovered and concentrated in Hubei Province, China, it was exported to all of the other Chinese provinces and spread globally. As of this writing, all plans have failed to contain the novel coronavirus disease, and it has continued to spread to the rest of the world. This study aimed to explore and interpret the effect of environmental and metrological variables on the spread of coronavirus disease in 30 provinces in China, as well as to investigate the impact of new China regulations and plans to mitigate further spread of infections. This article forecasts the size of the disease spreading based on time series forecasting. The growing size of CoVID-19 in China for the next 210 days is estimated by predicting the expected confirmed and recovered cases. The results revealed that weather conditions largely influence the spread of coronavirus in most of the Chinese provinces. This study has determined that increasing temperature and short-wave radiation would positively increase the number of confirmed cases, mortality rate, and recovered cases. The findings of this study agree with the results of our previous study.

An outbreak of a novel coronavirus disease-19 (nCoV-19) infection began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and now involved the whole word. Several health workers have been infected in different countries. We report the case of a young man with documented nCoV-19 infection evaluated with lung ultrasound and discuss potential applications of lung ultrasound in this setting. Lung ultrasound allowed the identification of nCoV-19 infection at bed-side. Moreover, lung ultrasound can have several other advantages, such as reduced health worker exposition to infected patients, repeatability during follow-up, low-costs and easier application in low-resource settings.

Objective To investigate the epidemical characteristics and analyze the incidence trend of 2019 novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) in China. Methods The daily new confirmed cases of 2019 novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) in China from January 25 to February 8,2020 were collected for epidemiological descriptive analysis. Results During the period from January 25 to February 8, 2020, the number of daily new confirmed cases fell for five consecutive days, from 890 cases on February 3 to 509 cases on February 8. Conclusion The incidence of 2019 novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) slowed down in 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) except Hubei and Xinjiang production and construction corps , but the overall situation is still not optimistic. It is imperative to pay close attention to the origin and destination of migrant workers and the incidence of disease in various areas, and take targeted measures to strengthen prevention and control of the disease. Objective To explore the clinical practice of delivering radiotherapy during the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19). Methods During this epidemic period, available methods including but not limited to: strict disinfection, body temperature monitoring, learning relevant knowledge by all staffs to ensure the safety of radiotherapy treatment. Relevant data including proportion of radiotherapy, time from scanning to the first time of radiation delivery and degree of satisfaction in the view of staffs and patients, respectively. Results A total of 60 patients received radiation therapy in the department of radiotherapy of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital (2020-02-11). Compared with the same period in 2019 (after the Spring Festival), the total number of patients receiving radiotherapy was decreased from 72 to 60(83.3%). Among them, the number of patients receiving palliative radiation therapy decreased significantly, while the proportion of radical, preoperative and/or postoperative radiotherapy/radiochemotherapy did not significantly decrease. There was significant difference between different years (χ2=6.967, P 0.05). Staffs and patients were generally satisfied with the current prevention measures. Conclusions Using a variety of prevention and control methods, and taking full account of medical safety and patient benefits, radiation-related activities can be carried out during the epidemic. At the end of December 2019, a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) caused an outbreak in Wuhan, and has quickly spread to all provinces in China and 26 other countries around the world, leading to a serious situation for epidemic prevention. So far, there is still no specific medicine. Previous studies have shown that chloroquine phosphate (chloroquine) had a wide range of antiviral effects, including anti-coronavirus. Here we found that treating the patients diagnosed as novel coronavirus pneumonia with chloroquine might improve the success rate of treatment, shorten hospital stay and improve patient outcome. In order to guide and regulate the use of chloroquine in patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia, the multicenter collaboration group of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and Health Commission of Guangdong Province for chloroquine in the treatment of novel coronavirus pneumonia developed this expert consensus after extensive discussion. It recommended chloroquine phosphate tablet, 500mg twice per day for 10 days for patients diagnosed as mild, moderate and severe cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia and without contraindications to chloroquine.

[Objective] To explore the transmission pattern of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) in the population by describing an imported case of novel coronavirus infected pneumonia epidemic situation. [Methods] Using the method of field investigation, epidemiological investigations were carried out for the imported NCP case and the close contacts related to this epidemic cluster. Data were collected such as the date of onset, isolation of the case and the close contacts. The novel coronavirus nucleic acid was collected from the throat swabs of the case and the close contacts. These samples were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR. [Results] In this epidemic cluster, the imported NCP case introduced to Yangzhou had effected 36 people (12 people in the family and 24 people outside the family) and 2 people in the family were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections. [Conclusion] In the process of transmission, NCP mainly exists in respiratory droplets and close contact transmission, which is easy to cause family aggregation epidemic. Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China in December 2019. On 11th March 2020, WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic and reiterated the call for countries to take immediate actions and scale up the response to treat, detect and reduce transmission to save people’s lives. The COVID-19 global crisis has given rise to the new normal way of surviving, both personally and professionally. With individuals restricted within the four walls of their homes, mental health has taken a severe hit. Sixty-one percent of Indians are experiencing mental health-related issues because of the uncertainty and looming financial crisis during the lockdown as per the survey conducted by The Mavericks India. Women are struggling more than men as their workload has increased significantly with them carrying multiple responsibilities without any assistance from domestic helpers. It is crucial for the wellbeing of the people to lower down the effect of mental stresses to heal Psychosomatic diseases like mood, anxiety disorders, loss of memory, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, thyroid, chronic back pain, arthritis, migraine, respiratory disorder, hepatitis, sleep disorders, kidney problems, allergies, muscular atrophy, etc. are more prevalent and the incidence of schizophrenia has increased. In the present study, it will be shown the effectiveness of Psycho Neurobics, innovative techniques designed by my Guru, and guide Dr. Chandrashekhar Tiwari, founder president of SIGFA Institute of Research and Development, Faridabad, Haryana, India, on psychosomatic disorders arising due to lockdown. The results will be statistically analyzed and the probability for complete healing will be discussed.
