Abstract
The paper presents an analytical model to predict and analyze the specific iron losses of 1-phase magnetic cores with several grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) grades. The analytical results are compared to experimental results obtained with a step-lap magnetic core circuit. The investigations show that the specific iron losses do not systematically vary linearly function of the proportion of each material. Analyzing the flux density distribution allows to quantify these non-linearities.
