Abstract

A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted for 88 patients receiving peritoneal dialysis (PD) in our centre over 13-months, to evaluate the ssociations between frailty and clinical outcomes within this context. Data on frailty status was prospectively determined based on the Clinical Frailty Scale. Our results found that a more severe frailty status, alongside being older and having more co-morbidities, were significant predictors of mortality in patients receiving PD. A multi-dimensional, yet individualized management approach is warranted for older PD patients living with frailty to optimize care.
