Abstract
In the article, the authors consider the actual problems of historical excursion in the era of the formation of sociological knowledge. The views of representatives of the French sociological school are analyzed, which had a significant impact on the development of sociological knowledge. The authors reveal the main provisions of such directions as functionalism, structuralism, symbolic interactionism and others. The significance of the views of Emile Durkheim, Marcel Moss, Gabriel Tarde, Gustave Lebon, which laid the foundation for many modern areas of sociology, is pointed out.
