Abstract

In the conditions of geopolitical instability transport logistics plays one of the key roles in the economic development of the country and its territories, as it reflects the economic activity of the population and industrial enterprises. The article investigates the trends in the development of the transport industry of the regions of the North-Western Federal District (NWFD) under the conditions of sanctions. The results of the study show that the regions managed to adapt to the effects of sanctions pressure, transform supply chains in the direction of «North-South2 and the Northern Sea Route. Thus, with regard to the NWFD regions, we should not speak of a decline, but only a slight decrease in cargo turnover and cargo loading indicators, which was levelled out in cooperation with new foreign partners.
