Abstract

According to the World Sports Encyclopaedia (2003), there are 8,000 indigenous sports and sporting games. The 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc to the sporting calendar. In a bid to stem the spread of the virus, many professional and amateur leagues across all continents and sports took the unprecedented step to postpone or suspend their seasons on the recommendation of the CDC to avoid gatherings of huge amounts of individuals. Data from the articles and news reports of the entire sports industry of the world. Scheduling and venue congestion will become a problem, as will the impact upon the beginning of next season’s competitions. Cancellation would be ground zero for several, as there would be all manner of ramifications: In essence, competitions would need to be designed and implemented from scratch during a matter of days and weeks so as to draw this season’s competitions to a close.
