Abstract
Bell Creek Field is undergoing CO2 enhanced oil recovery operations. Impurities (mostly CH4) in the reproduced CO2 are included in the recycle injection gas, but the effect of this on oil recovery was uncertain. Laboratory experiments were conducted to determine oil MMP with different mole percentage mixtures of CO2 and CH4. The reservoir simulation was then used to predict oil production for various solvent compositions. Results showed that the reinjection of the gas mixture was able to ensure the storage of large volumes of CO2 while improving project economics by not requiring full separation of impurities from the injection stream.
