Abstract
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA-- At a NASA-sponsored workshop held here last week, researchers heard mixed tidings about the asteroid threat. The search for civilization-ending asteroids is on track, but tens of thousands of smaller bodies could still wreak havoc. And if an asteroid of whatever size were detected on a collision course with Earth, no one would know what to do about it.
