Abstract
The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) report into ‘Data Analytics and Algorithms in Policing in England and Wales’ was commissioned by the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation to study the use of data analytics by the police force, with a focus on algorithmic bias. In this piece we provide a summary of the report and principally comment on three areas, namely the issue of governance, the Integrated Impact Assessment and Transparency, Explainability and Accountability (areas that align with our research interests).
