Abstract

Gingival infection is one of most important and frequent disease among oral inflammation in dogs (Harvey, 1998). Actually, sufficient data exist to sustain the intervention of immune mechanisms in evolution of gingival diseases (Preshaw et al., 2004), but the usefulness of immune therapy is unclear (Page, 2000). Despite this controversy, the utility of diverse immune-modulator products have practical support and popularity in the human stomatology. These aspects lead to the need of rethinking the gingival therapy.
