Abstract

A difference has been established in the live weight of calves during growth from 15 days to 3 months (the growth rate of calves, determined by the relative gain index, on average across the groups was 29.0 and 35.0%) and in the content of immunoglogulins of G and M classes between progenies of two bulls originating from Denmark and Canada. The IgM content in progeny from the Danish bull increased till the age of 2 months by 1.04 mg/mL (P ≤ 0.001) and in progeny from the Canadian bull by 0.9 mg/mL.
