Immunoglobulin A vasculitis in an adult patient receiving vedolizumab therapy for ulcerative colitis: a case report

Abstract

Immunoglobulin A-associated vasculitis (IgAV), is an inflammatory disease characterized by the deposition of immunoglobulin A1 in the small vessels of the skin, joints, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract. Here, the author describes the case of a 28-year-old woman undergoing vedolizumab treatment for ulcerative colitis who presented with a palpable purpuric rash followed by classical symptoms of IgAV.
