Abstract

The parameters involved in immobilization of alkaline protease on nylon using glutaraldehyde as coupling agent and the characteristics of the immobilized enzyme were investigated. Optimum temperature and pH of both free and immobilized enzyme for the degradation of protein was found. Immobilized enzyme showed better thermal stability than the free enzyme. The reusability and storage stability of the immobilized enzyme was also studied.
