Abstract

Basically, a cloud is used to store some personal information like images, videos and files etc. and it is secure and user can back up their data. There are different types of cloud like Google drive, Drop box, Amazon drive, Mega etc. It can be accessed anywhere at any time, but the user needs to have internet access. In this paper, the importance is given to image de-duplication method in cloud as images take more storage in the cloud. If we upload similar images twice it takes more storage in the cloud. So, to overcome this problem, images are divided into rectangular blocks. Each block will generate hash value using MD5 algorithm in DriveHQ. DriveHQ is a website, offers optimized photo and video viewing features. If we upload similar images it will generate blocks and each block is checked with hash value. If hash value is similar, that is near identical images then only once the image is stored in cloud so more storage will be available to the user. We provide detailed analyses in proposed work.
