IL-17 cytokine family and chronic airway inflammatory diseases

Abstract

Chronic airway inflammatory diseases,such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma,are non-specific inflammatory diseases,in which airway intrinsic cells,inflammatory cells and cytokines involved under various internal and external stimuli factors.So far,6 members of IL-17 cytokine family have already been described,playing crucial roles in the development of the chronic airway inflammatory diseases.Therefore,further study on the relationship between IL-17 cytokine family and the chronic airway inflammatory diseases will provide new ideas for the treatment of these diseases.
