Abstract

After a brief preface, Francesco Paoli organizes his small treatise into four sections: the first is dedicated to the powers that have to be educated in children, the second to the various means by which this task can be accomplished, the third to the rules to be observed in educational practice, the fourth to three general rules that have to be followed for a full and integral education. The conclusion reports the concise Spiegazione del Cono Pedagogico which, inside a large painting, was sent to the Universal Exhibition in Vienna (1873) together with the specially built wooden cone.
