Abstract

The results of experimental studies of the ignition process of droplets of multicomponent coal-water suspensions based on long flame coal with the addition of liquid pyrolysis products of rubber waste are presented. The heating, ignition and combustion processes were observed using a high-speed video camera (up to 3600 frames per second), which provides highly reliable results. The experiments were performed in an oxidizing environment (still air) heated to high temperatures (873–1273 K). It was found that the value of the stable ignition delay time of droplets decreases by 21–54 % under conditions corresponding to the combustion chambers (temperature 1273 K) and with the mass concentration of the liquid combustible component at 3–8 %.
