Abstract
In my previous message, I mentioned that we just approved a new technical committee on smart grids. At this time, I'm very satisfied because we can see its first activities being organized during our flagship conference, the Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) (IECON) 2010, held in Phoenix, Arizona, last November, where our multidisciplinary character, unique among all the IEEE Societies, has shown how a good number of our volunteers from different backgrounds can work together. On the other hand, the committee also announced that the new IES Web page is now fully operational, and I invite you to visit it and get the news from IES.
