Abstract
Abstract Varicella zoster virus (VZV) can present with multiple neurological complications both during and in the immediate post-infectious period. Among these, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a rare but treatable entity exclusively reported in children and adolescents. This report describes a 23 year old female who developed headache and visual disturbances on the third week after the exanthema, who satisfied the diagnostic criteria for IIH. Clinical improvement was achieved with medical management. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of IIH in an adult patient following varicella infection.
