Abstract

Background: Vitamin D deficiency is very common irrespective of age, race, and geographic location. Studies showed that the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is higher in people with diabetes than those without diabetes. Autonomic neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus. Autonomic dysfunction has been associated with all-cause mortality, cardiac disease morbidity, and mortality in diabetes. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Heart Rate Recovery (HRR) both are the measures of autonomic nervous system function.
