It is stated that on the way of its origin, the picture of the was associated with the structure of the ideographic dictionary. It is proved that the classification schemes of concepts in ideographic dictionaries indicate that the same reality in material, spiritual, physical and mental basis is perceived differently by different compilers. It is explained that natural human language is one of the means of expressing the result of the process of cognition by a person of the objective world, which is why any of the variants of the category system of cognition existing in philosophy can be accepted as a general scheme of a model of a set of meanings of words of a certain language in a certain period. its development. Therefore, to understand the integrity of the lexical-semantic system, it is necessary to take into account not only the system of the category of cognition, but also to understand that the categories operate in all spheres of human activity, which is clearly traced in the meanings of words, when the definitions of the meanings which at first seemed identical differ. the sphere of being.
