Abstract
Acetocarmine, toluidine blue, basic and carbol fuchsin and Giemsa staining procedures were tried in order to differentiate between the nuclei of Nicotiana tabacum cv. Xanthi and Nicotiana knightiana. Giemsa staining proved the best for the identification of nuclei in the interspecific fusion products on the basis of the differences in size and number of their heterochromatic blocks.
