Abstract

The identification procedure in order to determine non dimensional aerodynamic coefficients of the lateral dynamics of AURORA airship, is presented. Two different methods are used: dynamic and stationary identification. In the first one a subspace based system identification method based upon the MOESP algorithm is used to estimate a state space linear model of the lateral motion. In the stationary identification technique a set of equations obtained from an equilibrium condition of a circular flight at constant airspeed is used to estimate the aerodynamic coefficients. In both cases, the required data are collected from nonlinear model simulation in the presence of realistic process noise.
