Abstract

Identification and control of an unmanned airship are some of the research fields in AURORA project. This work investigates a dynamic identification method in order to detennine non dimensional aerodynamic coefficients of airship AS800. Required data are collected from nonlinear model simulation in the presence of process and measurement noise. Subspace based system identification techniques such as MOESP algorithm as well as classical PEM methods are used. This identification strategy allows the detennination of a state space linear model restricted to longitudinal motion. The accuracy is evaluated through the model matrix coefficients as function of aerodynamic coefficients obtained by analyticallinearization. The procedure validates the methodology to be further used in the experimental identification based on real flight data.
