Identification of area most sensitive to modifications of the transport network

Abstract

The transport system is a key factor for the development of land-use territories. In particular, transport network design is very important for reliability and economic efficiency of the transport system. Any new element of transport network has a different impact on different parts of the territory. We propose an approach to identify the parts of the transport network most sensitive to the emergence of a new element of the network. We consider some optimization problem to find the most improved transport links in the network. These links allow to find the transport network vertices, which receive the greatest benefit from the emergence of a new element of the network. The obtained results can be used to compare investment projects for the network modernization.
