Abstract

Cervicogenic headache has historically been treated by nerve blocks followed by peripheral nerve stimulation targeting the greater occipital nerve. There has not been as much literature that describes how patients respond when the lesser occipital nerve is also targeted. We present a case series involving 5 patients who underwent peripheral nerve stimulation targeting the greater in addition to the lesser occipital nerves. We discuss the significance of these findings from a unique surgical perspective towards practical implications in treating cervicogenic headache.
