Abstract
Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-facilitated domestic violence is a global issue. As we are advancing with technology, so is the crime related to it. Very little is known about the relationship between domestic violence and ICT. This empirical study aims to get a perception of domestic violence experts in the legal field to know about the relationship between domestic violence and ICT and how ICT facilitates domestic violence in India. A quantitative study is done on 399 domestic violence experts in the region of Uttarakhand. Technology-facilitated domestic violence is common in India. Experts believe that most domestic violence crimes happen because of technology abuse. ICT can respond to such technology-based crime if AI technology enhances ICT.
