Abstract

Rana Bose is a playwright who lives in Montreal. He is the co-founder and artistic director of Montreal Serai, a collective that publishes a magazine and produces at least one major play each year. He was born in Calcutta in 1950, educated at St. Xavier’s School and took his engineering degree from Washington University in the United States. He came to Montreal in 1977 and is now a senior executive in an engineering company. He has written and produced nine plays since 1986. They include Baba Jacques Dass and Turmoil at Cote-des-Neiges Cemetery (1986), The Death of Abbie Hoffman (1991), and Five or Six Characters in Search of Toronto (1994).
