Abstract

Nurses and advanced practice providers are encouraged to embrace resilience skills to deal with compassion fatigue and prevent burnout. As a Christian nurse, I learned the importance of daily staying close to Jesus when a beloved pediatric oncology patient died and I experienced overwhelming grief. Through prayers, Bible reading, and honoring the patient with coworkers, I found hope in Jesus' presence. God sees me as his beloved child and gives me strength to continue my work.
