Abstract
Congenital breast malformations occur in 2–6% with its range in severity from the relatively minor to major chest wall deformities. These malformations generally fall into one of two categories, the presence of supernumerary breast tissue or the absence or underdevelopment of breast tissue. The absence or underdevelopment of breast tissue is less common than the presence of supernumerary tissue. These conditions may be unilateral or bilateral and result from partial or complete underdevelopment of the mammary bud. Breast embryology and tubular breast etiology are discussed, and treatment of tubular breast deformities is described.
