Abstract

Hypertension is still an important health problem. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Province is still high. The high incidence of hypertension in DIY Province also influences the incidence of this disease in Bantul District. Unhealthy and poorly maintained eating patterns, smoking behaviors, psychosocial stress due to economic factors, and the lack of health facilities & infrastructure are factors that trigger the high incidence of hypertension in this region. This community service aims to provide additional knowledge of risk factors, tackle hypertension and complications of hypertension as well as train health cadres related to hypertension. This community service activity is health promotion in the form of hypertension education using leaflet media. The community service activities were attended by health cadres as the targets of the service program. The community service ran smoothly. The community gave a good response and enthusiastically participated in the community service activities.
