Abstract

This paper presents the results of direct Monte Carlo simulation of transversal hypersonic flow of gas mixture around a band. The data for structure of disturbed flow, density, velocity, temperature distribution and energy distribution function of the heavy atoms colliding with the band are determined over a wide range of Knudsen numbers, band temperatures, absorption probabilities, and mixture composition. Deceleration of heavy atoms in the shock layer in front of the band was the main objective of analysis.
